The Personal Finance Society presents – Financial Wellbeing
A collaboration with ITN Productions Industry News
The Personal Finance Society and ITN Productions Industry News have co-produced an online news-style programme Financial Wellbeing.
The UK has seen a dramatic fall in its savings ratio in recent years placing increasing responsibility on the financial planning profession to empower consumers to take command of their own financial future.
Anchored by journalist Alice Beer and featuring ITN newsreader Natasha Kaplinsky, the Financial Wellbeing aims to engender public confidence and trust in the personal finance profession, to explore the key challenges and opportunities consumers face today and showcase how the profession has developed to meet the increasingly complex needs of the modern consumers.
PFS ITN Financial Wellbeing Programme
Improving financial futures
The programme invites experts in the field of financial planning from around the UK to share examples of advice, best practice and initiatives that equip consumers with the knowledge they need to improve their financial future.
The programme focuses on key areas of consumer confusion including how to get the right suitable financial advice, retirement income options and how to recognise a scam. Financial Wellbeing will also explore the financial education services and guidance offered to engage with individuals who are unable to afford or access professional financial advice.
You can watch and download/share the showcase video (11m 36s), or the short trailer (1m 15s) on our Vimeo Channel.
Keith Richards, Chief Executive of the Personal Finance Society said: “The UK has seen a dramatic fall in its savings ratio in recent years placing increasing responsibility on the financial planning profession to empower consumers to take command of their own financial future. Raising the profile of engaging in financial planning at all stages in life has never been more important given the unforeseen impact of COVID on our economy and people’s lives. We are pleased to work with ITN Productions to produce an educational and informative programme about the value of consumers engaging in financial planning and their financial wellbeing which can make a real difference to people’s lives.”
Elizabeth Fisher-Robins, Head of ITN Productions Industry News said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with the Personal Finance Society to produce a programme raising awareness of the financial planning profession, bridging the financial advice gap and highlighting the consumer tools and techniques available to avoid the scam artists and make the right decisions. We hope the programme ultimately helps improve the UK’s financial wellbeing.”
