EFPA – PFS Membership recognition in the EU

Post-Brexit, the ability for Personal Finance Members to practice in the EU has changed.

Advisers who still seek to practice in the EU are able to continue to do so, thanks to a partnership we had already put in place with other awarding bodies across Europe.

Through the Personal Finance Society’s membership of the European Financial Planning Association (EFPA), PFS members can automatically claim an EPFA certificate that is recognised by qualification bodies in 11 countries in the EU, including Spain, Germany and Italy. Once a PFS member has an EFPA certificate, they are able to go through a bridging process which will enable them to use their UK qualifications in many EU states.

About EFPA

EFPA is the leading professional standards setting body for financial advisers and planners in Europe, with a focus on building public confidence and trust. EFPA influences the market behaviour of its certificate holders by guiding these professionals in knowledge, skills, lifelong learning, behaviour and ethics.

How to obtain your EFPA certificate

You can download your EFPA certificate from the MyPFS section.
