We are deeply saddened by the civil unrest that has taken place across the UK, and our thoughts are with those who have been affected directly or indirectly. The CII and PFS stand for equality, diversity, and inclusion for all, and it is an expectation we have set out in our Code of Ethics.

Internally, we have encouraged staff to utilise mental health resources and request any additional support where needed, either personally or professionally. We also encourage any members affected to reach out to us if they require support or advice at this time.

For our members and corporate partners, we advise the promotion and provision of support to your employees through Employee Assistance Programmes, or equivalent arrangements you have in place.

Examples of support may include:

  • Reminding staff about safety protocols, resources and help
  • Giving guidance and help about what to do and where to go if they are in danger of violence
  • Contacting staff that are potentially at risk to ask after their well-being and discuss options, such as working from home, if they could potentially be affected.

We trust in the safety and wellbeing of our CII and PFS network, members and the public.
